In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Community Service.”

Honesty is the best policy, I am not the type for sugar coating.

I know am different so deal the fuck with it. I always stay in my lane, how about you stay in yours.

We do not need to conversate, when we both know you are seeking the type of gossip I am not interested in partaking.

I am not open for the type of friendship that ends of with best friends on Monday, quarrel on Wednesday and a visit by the police on Friday, yet back to best friends the following Monday.

If I want that type of drama, I will turn to a novel or few minutes video on Youtube.

There is no hope of an alliance, so just leave me in my peace.

Love’s the only thing in this world that is unequivocal. There are different kinds of love, certainly, but it’s a you-do or you-don’t proposition with them all.

Go Set A Watchman

I am waiting to read Harper Lee’s second yet technically first novel. I read the first chapter online (wsj.com)and I already detect : humour, , class, sexuality, urban sprawl etc. The quote above caught my attention and picqued my interest in a possible love/lust angle. I am sure commencing next week and the rest of the summer WordPress will spring to life with book reviews. I hope I can read the novel before the year ends.

Do you have any final words for the audience? “I don’t like the sound of “final words!” I would simply say and this applies to all of us – keep reading. It’s one of the most marvellous adventures that anyone can have. Beyond that, I could only add: develop and nourish your imagination, and reading will certainly help you do that. I think imagination is at the heart of everything we do. Scientific discoveries couldn’t have happened without imagination. Art, music, and literature couldn’t exist without imagination. And so anything that strengthens imagination, and reading certainly that, can help us for, oh, the rest of our lives. I’d like to say thanks for listening. but since you are listening, I’ll have to say thanks for watching. I guess, seriously, what I want to say is keep reading.

How pleasant it is to spend an evening in this way! I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book! – When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excelled library.

Miss Bingley, Chapter 3, Pride and Prejudice

A Quote for Reading Month 2015. It is a pity that Miss Bingley words were an attempt only to impress Mr. Darcy. Do you agree with Miss Bingley that “there is no enjoyment like reading?”

One must always be careful of books… and what is inside them, for words have the power to change us.

Tess in Clockwork Angel [pg 87] 2010 The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare

Post Four: Reading Month, 2015

Maybe we underestimate the power of what words can do to a wandering and even a firm mind. It can corrupt or  nurture you so be careful what you read and when you read it but never fear reading, it is a journey which does not need a physical passport. :).
