You may wonder who is that crazy person who wants to give people tips on reading. It’s only me, your weird blogging friend Noirfifre, haha. I want to share with you some manoeuvres I use to make the most of reading on a platform hosting millions of bloggers. Isn’t that just down right crazy and exciting at the same time. Since, I dip my toes into blog reading both on Blogger and WordPress around 2009/2010, I learned some tricks. It was through reading that I became attracted to WordPress.
1. Subscribe to blogs that carry topics which interests you, you do not have to “follow” another simply because that blog showed an interest in your blog. Now I am not saying you if you have a regular reader/commentator on your blog, you should not go over to their world from time to time. Who knows you may come across some posts address in a special way which piques your radar to a new delight. However, when you do reciprocate subscribe just for the sake of it, you will open your Reader to topics of no appeal to you. What would WordPress feel like then? Yes, I subscribed to a few bloggers who are not subscribed to me and that is fine. For example, I read regularly of bloggers quest in conquering the world through travelling. Shoot, I live vicariously through them because I love seeing photos and reading tales of gorgeous sites and extraordinary natural creation. However, my blog has no major interest to these persons because I am not a world traveller and certainly think thrice about experimenting with unfamiliar food.

Superhero Jesus by Deus- Nocte via Deviant.com
“You my hero, you already saved the day”
A sentence jumping into my thoughts when I saw the theme for the first Prompt Stomp of 2016. The line is from Trip Lee’s Hero Invasion, a song I listened to so much at university. It definitely made me pause to an extent that I stopped everything, staring at the wall. Reflecting. Thinking of a time that Jesus was my superhero and no matter what circumstance occurred, he was the one to my rescue. It was a true description of “the solid rock” because with him I felt an anchor. Some call him an imaginary friend but I never had those, I have characters from stories as friends but I cannot recall having imaginary friends. He was real like the characters from stories.

What happened to all the dreams as a child, the simple ones to develop a career, providing for myself?
What happened to the days of planning in a journal what I will do by age 25, 30 and so on?
What happened to all the fruits that should fall from hard work?
What happened to 2015 turning into my year?
The answers: NOTHING.
NOTHING good comes out of people like me, the people who be even mad at my struggle. Can you imagine people being jealous of a struggling, suffering person? Is that what the world has turned.
Then you have the ex boyfriend who messed up but will not leave you alone and his girlfriend who is adamant that you are the one who is after him. Someone needs a reality check.
This is not a piece for encouragement or inspiration. It is a frustrated words that need venting.
Sometimes it is healing.
A person no longer suffering.
Death is peace, depending on
your viewpoint angle.
It like a gentle sunset riding away
on waves of see you later, not
that you cared anyways.
Death is coming.

In Notorious BIG single ‘Mo Money Mo Problems’ featuring Puff Daddy, Kelly Price sings about “more money more problems” in the chorus/refrain. I grew up hearing the saying a poor man falls asleep, thinking about all the money he wish he had and the rich man falls asleep, thinking about how to protect all his money. You do not have money but you want it, when you get it still worries you, hence the problem still persist. More bills to pay, more time figuring who really are your friends and the list goes on. Just make sure you are happy, you need money to pay the bills but do not live just for the money.
Have a great weekend and thank you for reading. Share the quote with a friend.

Bemused, curled in
sheets eyes closed- remembering.
Down south made fingers closed
Exhausted – more sleep
Naked to the bone, hair sprawl
My interpretation of the above photograph for Magpie Tales Weekly Prompt.
Thank your reading. What is your take on the image above. Tell me in the comment section below.
Decaying network of evil, see them
breathe their diseased work on the
ideal impressionable young yoke.
Family values are weak from assaults
day in and week out from terrible gossip.
When weed is your best friend,
the deed is almost done. Help!
Is that the keys, handed down to
Eve, to multiply fruits to torture others?
Who made those community legal?
Stop, you cannot weasel your way
through my needle of choice.
Please, leave my different ways, different.
Let me be, be me. Free to choose only three
as friends because mama said 3 is a crowd
and I just want to stay out of trouble.
Day 7 of WordPress poetry class with the ‘Ballad.’ For our prompt today, Neighbours and the literary device ‘Assonance.’ My poem speaks on my interpretation of the place, I call community. Sadly it is a negative but the truth shall set me free, yes free indeed.
As always, I leave you with the other poems from class: Day 1, Day 2,Day 3, Day 4, Day 5 and Day 6.
I leave you with a question: Do you live in a neighbourhood where you notice a slow decay (people mannerisms etc), does it bother you? Would you mind telling me about it, in the section below?

You looked at me with that come hither smoldering stare.
There is a story behind that look,an urgent need.
So I stopped
Out of curiosity and an exciting pleasure to explore,
I am contemplating,
How to respond to your open request, should I show
Bold & direct response
Or the naïve school girl charm of long ago?
Isn’t the above image simply gorgeous?

I read Ameena 9 talents she was sure no one else would want, after laughing my heart out, I took her on her offer that we (her readers) should make a list as well. So here are few things about me I am sure you would not want and as always I am brutally honest so…
- I am brutally honest. If you are looking for someone to sugar coat words for you, you are most definitely out of zone. Whilst I am compassionate to certain situations and words of comfort are best, I will not run away from steering you on that path if you are my close friend or family. When you ask if you look fat in that dress and you do look fat, I will say so directly. If you ask me if you were an idiot for cutting a younger child or older person in a line, I will say yes and perhaps call you a jackass. Please, please, I ask the same of you, tell me the upright truth when I ask, after all I ask.

“Gossip can be very harmful. It has been known to destroy people. And those who gossip are extremely dangerous, in my opinion. All they do is cause trouble for others.”
Babara Taylor Bradford
The Cavendon Women
Be careful what you say about others especially if you are purposefully spreading a falsehood which may break up families. Our tongues are not only powerful but also deadly. Sometimes we should spend more time talking about our business and not minding someone’s else who has no bearing in your life. I am sure, the topics for gossip about others would not be so juicy if someone else said it about us. Peace!
