He Is In My Skin

Heart

Out of all the apples, rotten and good, my heart chose you.

Out of all the soul ties begging for connection, my soul craved your spirit.

Out of all the wandering minds our intellects vine into a combustion.

It is there you left the fragments of your explosion,

scattered over all my skin.

You sunk into my pores and every cleaner cannot get you out.

Years of separation does not erase your road map of memories,

even when you were my second, my heart puts you first.

This week on Prompt Storm is Free Association Writing, Megan encouraged us to pen something without the aid of a prompt and He Is In My Skin came out even when I tried to suppress the thought many times. To be honest, I hate and love that feeling at the same time. Urgghh!

Heart

“Where the heart is really attached, I know very well how little one can be pleased with the attention of anybody else. Everything is so insipid, so uninteresting, that does not relate to the beloved object! I can perfectly comprehend your feelings.”

Jane Austen Northanger Abbey

I know Isabella, I know the feeling. It is like the solar system suddenly begins rotating around “the beloved object.” When the phone cries and you are really expecting word from “the beloved object,” every message and phone call from someone else makes you groan  in frustration.

Concrete Poetry

Day 8 of WordPress class with the form of Concrete or Shape Poetry. We have to shape our poem with words. Since our prompt is ‘cold’ I used a broken heart as my foundation. I also try to include the literacy devices of anaphora and epistrophe.

Thank you for reading and let me know what you think down below.

It Warms My Heart #2

Awww, I love to see old love, don’t you? Doesn’t it warm your heart when you see an aged couple walking hand in hand or hugging? It is absolutely sweet, whether they are married or not, it is especially beautiful when I come across a couple who is on a love journey for 30 years or 40 years.

Love After Love

Standard
The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other’s welcome,

and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you

all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,

the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.

Post 5: National Poetry Month
I will admit that I have struggled with Derek’s poetry from my days at A ‘Level. I fear I set up a mental block to all his work, giving away a copy of the only text I owned of his work with ease. When I thought of dedicating April for poetry posts round the 1st, he immediately came to mind but I dismiss the idea. However, last week I felt that nudge that I could not deny, so I went through some notes, here and there. Voilà, I found his poem ‘Love After Love’ and my heart melted, I felt like laughing and crying at the same time. I read the words so many times in my head and out loud, that I became seeing a physical scene: Me and Life loving each other. Sigh

Heart Change

Heart Changing

I know I should forget about you:
but slowly I am.
But I cannot stop thinking about:
Umm, time provides a determined factor.
I force myself to stop, I try to block all memories:
I do not have to force myself anymore.
I do not have to push memories or emotions:
I am no longer a slave to those insane moments, it went away on its own.
I guess I am floating back to sane land.
You told me once to follow my heart and not my head.
Did you know at that time that my heart would long day lead back to you:
And then back to me.
Getting my heart back.

This poem is a combination of two sets of thoughts. You thought I was bipolar, hmmm. I wrote the parts about cannot forget weeks ago but a few days ago, I realize that something change. So I decided to combine the old feelings with the new into one poem. I thought it captured two different hearts in a ways two poems would not. It is not bipolar love :P.

Love is always God

A deep moving force.

Love could be scary

when I see hurt

but I can’t do anything.

Love is looking at

your bright eyes with

swelling in my heart,

the pleasant type because

love keeps me growing.

Secured from that connection knotted under the twinkling sky on that heartfelt day,

Anchored with a love, ushered by the release of doves, definitely not haggard.

Filled my heart you did with trust, continuity for tomorrow with more gust.
