Hello book people another Top 5 Wednesday is here with:
January 17th: Forgettable Books
–Whether you loved or hated them at the time, these are books that you just don’t really remember…
Now the question is how would I figure out my forgettable books if I do not remember anything at all? Ding, ding- Goodreads.
Let us dive into it:
1.Never a Bride by Amelia Grey [Historical Romance]
According to Goodreads I said ” I liked it. An easy and engaging read. It is historical in context but some applicable today that the storyline is endearing. “ However, even after reading the synopsis on the site, I still cannot recall the major or minor details. If it is a book I apparently really liked why can’t I recall ever mere details?
2. When the Heart Cries (Sisters of the Quilt #1) by Cindy Woodsmall [Christian Fiction, Amish]
No bells toll, nothing , not even the character names yet I left a four star rating in 2012.
3. The Sisters Mortland by Sally Beauman [Drama, Adult]
The records show that I really disliked this story but I am not sure why because my memory recalls part of one scene (not a pretty one at all).
4.To Waters’ End (GammaLAW #4) by Brian Daley, James Luceno [Science Fiction]
I am not surprise that my mind went blank for this title because it is a Science Fiction. I am not a fan of this genre.
5.Leaving Liberty by Virginia Carmichael[Romance]
I do not understand why my Book Data says I really enjoyed this book but neither my review nor spoilers can trigger Daisy’s trick for saving the library in her old home town.
Today’s Top 5 Wednesday made me reflect on how time can change our memories of stories and their characters. Why is it that some books read many years ago remained so fresh in my think tank yet others are sadly forgotten? I am really appreciative of Goodreads because I can easily reread my reviews after every read thereby making it possible to compare reviews for rereads. Thanks to my favourite book site that tracks my books, making my storage memos beautiful and efficient. I think it is time for some rereads especially of the books I recorded that I really liked but with no reason to answer why in 2018.
