Happy Wednesday my dear readers and welcome to another Top 5 Wednesday. This time we journey to the land of Unfinished Reads and I share with you my reasons for having 5 books unfinished on my virtual and physical shelf.
Let is dive into it:
1.Romance of Lust by Anonymous
This is my review of the book:
***Incomplete Reading***
It is not a romance book with a plot entangled with a few scenes, it is just a boastful romp and basically book porn version. If you are thinking that you would be unaffected after reading a few pages of the text then you are wrong. Well unless you are into people using their mental vices to sexually exploit family and friends…. |
2. Mr. Darcy In Want Of A Wife by Jack Gunthridge
My review of the story:
How this did not pass as plagiarism?
Story: So I finally decided to try a modern retelling of my beloved Jane Austen and I said ok, let me try this one. Holy moly, this is not Pride and Prejudice revisited, this is Pride and Prejudice. Hence, I never finished reading I felt misled from the attractive gentleman on the cover expecting a modern tale. Sigh. |
3. Georgiana Darcy’s Diary: Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice Continued (Pride and Prejudice Chronicles #1) by Anna Elliott
I actually do like the beginning of this cute story but I stopped reading when my schedule got tough and I never went back into the adorable tale of Georgiana Darcy and her love life. I must admit I was a bit hesitant about her suitor but I am not sure how it will work out, I must get back to reading very soon.
4. Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens
I started reading the novel together with a Dickens group but it is another book which fell victim to my schedule. I am definitely planning to finish reading because I aim to read all Dickens work in the future. I started a few years back and always say I will do a Dickens year of reading but you know what happens with plans sometimes. I really liked what I read so far of Oliver Twist because it follows a theme which fascinates me: The impact of poverty/rag to riches[not necessarily money] story especially in the Victorian Era.
5. The Bible by Various Men
I have read many passages of the bible but never as a book from beginning to end, so I started sometime in 2013/14 but only got half way through the Old Testament. There are so many repetitive chapters and plus a change in me, sort of mentally placed the book reading on pause.
If you click on each book image you will follow a link to the Goodreads page. How about you what book have remained unfinished on your shelf. Care to share the reason with me in the comment section below?
Haha, of all the books, I was not expecting to see Oliver Twist. I haven’t read but heard it was one of those “must read” books.
I currently have two books, I haven’t been able to complete- close to the bone and buried alive.

It is one of Dickens highly rated books but I just have not made time to pick it up again. What genre of books are Close to the Bone and Buried Alive?

They are both detective crime. I just didn’t feel them and couldn’t bear continuing especially close to the bone.

I went through some of the summaries of Close to the Bone especially the one by McBride and I see what you mean, it sound really creepy and chilly. I also went through some of the summaries for Buried Alive (I was so foolish for not asking the authors) but 4 of them just sound similarly creepy. I totally understand why you did not finish *shivers*
